Seasons Greetings!  This month I want to share one of my personal joys with you – our home at Christmas time.

In December 2016, FOX8’s “New Day Cleveland” felt the same way – and featured our home as a Christmas gift to its viewers.

Ever since I was a little boy, Christmas has been my favorite time of year.  In 1987 – when my wife and I moved into our current home at Grove Court in Cleveland’s Duck Island neighborhood – we began to collect an over-the-top Christmas display.  Each year, we begin decorating over the Labor Day weekend and have usually completed the process by Thanksgiving.

Each year, we add something new and different.  This year, we’ll feature:

  • 30 full-size trees and about 50 miniature Christmas trees on display – including a set of 3 made of Italian glass imported from Italy, one made of Elk antlers, and an 9-foot upside-down tree;
  • 40 to 50 life-size stuffed animals from FAO Schwartz – including the George G. Giraffe family, Henrietta the Hippo and her son Henry, and a gathering of Coca Cola drinking Polar Bears in our foyer; and
  • 20 hand-crafted Black Santas – including Santa and Mrs. Claus, a Cowboy Santa and an Uncle Sam Santa.

We decorate for our own enjoyment and for the pleasure of our guests.  However, I could not resist the temptation to share our holiday spirit with you too.  Throughout this email, I've included a series of photos of our home last Christmas.

Happy Holidaze and Ho! Ho! Ho!
